Nature awaits outside the Aurora on your hiking holiday in Austria!

Lech is a paradise for hiking enthusiasts – and not just because the mountains are so close. It’s the quiet valleys, the fresh mountain air, and the tranquillity of the landscape that make this region so special. Whether you opt for a short walk through the valley or a multi-day hike, on your own or guided, walking holidays in Austria at Mount Arlberg make every hiker’s dreams come true.

And the best part? When you spend your hiking holiday in Austria at our hotel, you don’t have far to go – simply open the door and you’ll find yourself immersed in natural beauty.

Lechweg path

From crystal-clear Lake Formarinsee to the Lech waterfall in Bavaria, the 125km-long Lechweg path follows the course of the wild Lech river, taking you deeper into unspoilt nature with every stage.

Partner business benefit:
Our hotel in the Arlberg region makes it so easy for you! Personal advice on choosing a stage, practical maps, information on travel timetables, and a tasty snack to enjoy en route mean you can set off with perfect peace of mind. Best of all: three stages start right on our doorstep.

  • Stage 1: Lake Formarinsee → Lech (arrive to jaw-dropping views)
  • Stage 2: Lech → Warth (panoramic trails above the Lech gorge)
  • Stage 3: Warth → Steeg (convenient return by hiking bus)

The Green Ring

On the Green Ring, nature and art merge into a unique experience. Fabulous creatures and mysterious mythical figures meet artful installations by Daniela Egger and Daniel Nikolaus Kocher, which transform the landscape into a living work of art. With a literary hiking map in hand, you’re invited to experience the mountain world from a new perspective.

Difficulty level: moderate – the route is leisurely, but also has some challenging sections.

The Arlberg Trail

The Arlberg Trail is a challenging multi-day tour that takes you around Mount Arlberg in three stages. Over approximately 40 kilometres and 3,000 metres of elevation, you’ll experience the full variety of Alpine landscapes – from flower-filled Alpine meadows to rugged peaks and tranquil mountain lakes. Your sure-footedness and fitness will be rewarded with unforgettable panoramas.

The Aurora is the ideal starting or end point: begin your adventure well rested or treat yourself to a little well-deserved relaxation with us after your tour.

The Lechquellen circuit

The Lechquellen circuit combines unspoilt nature with cosy hut culture. Over several stages, you hike from hut to hut through the Lechquellen mountains – past crystal-clear mountain lakes, over scenic ridges, and through tranquil high valleys. A high-altitude tour for anyone seeking an authentic mountain experience.

Again, the Aurora is your perfect companion: as a starting point before your tour, as a stopover, or as a place to relax and give your legs a little TLC after your adventure.
