The Huber-Hus – a lovingly preserved “Walser” house from the 16th century – tells the story of Lech in an especially authentic way. In its parlours, you can immerse yourself in the daily life of bygone days, and the small museum also tells you all about the culture, craftsmanship, and lives of the Walser settlers. A charming, peaceful window into the past.

It boasts two impressive mountain lakes: Lake Formarinsee was named the most beautiful place in Austria – and is also the starting point of the award-winning Lechweg path. Lake Spullersee captivates with its tranquil, almost mystical atmosphere.

The Lechweg path is one of the most famous long-distance hiking trails in the Alps and starts directly at Lake Formarinsee in the Zugertal valley. It follows the course of the Lech river for around 125 kilometres, as far as Füssen. From Lech, three stages can be wonderfully combined – perfect for anyone looking for an introduction to this special hiking experience or who wants to enjoy individual sections.
